A Scottish Men's Sheds Association charity is in need of tools and timber for future workshops

A charity in Forth Valley, East Scotland, which is dedicated to improving men’s physical and mental wellbeing by providing a safe space in which to socialise and enjoy creative woodworking, is seeking new items to support its ambitious growth plans.

The charity:

In January 2016 a group of friends teamed up to develop a strong and inclusive Men’s Shed for the Forth Valley area of Scotland. Their goal was to create a safe space in which to develop friendships and share woodworking skills for men suffering with loneliness and bereavement. Activities include carpentry, joinery, turning, carving, whittling, marquetry and furniture renovation. Completed projects are saved and sold at local markets to raise money to put back into the charity.

The project:

The charity wants to increase its ability to work with men in the local area who are facing mental health issues by offering a new timetable of workshops. To achieve this, the Men’s Shed is in need of more woodworking tools and timber.

The ask:

  • Woodworking tools

  • Timber

  • Screws and nails

Can you help?

Do you have any woodworking tools and timber that you would be able to donate?

If you do, the charity will be thrilled!

Please go to www.agoodthing.org.uk and click on ‘Sign up’. It takes 30 seconds to register with us, and you can then post the item(s) you’re offering.

Thank you so much in advance!
