Cathy Benwell: Net Zero 50 2025 list member
At the end of November, A Good Thing’s Co-founder, Cathy Benwell, was voted into the prestigious Net Zero 50 UK List, securing a place in the Top 5 for the Charity Sector. Cathy’s tireless commitment to environmental impact and continuous efforts have been instrumental in A Good Thing reaching a major milestone this year: 1,000 businesses signed up to the platform. This marks a 50% increase in the past 12 months alone, and an impressive 178% increase over the last two years.
The Net Zero 50 List, created by Digital Leaders in partnership with CGI and the Green Business Journal, highlights 50 individuals across the UK who are leading the charge towards decarbonisation. This year’s list spans the public, private and third sectors, with notable names including Mayor of London Sadiq Khan (Top 5, Public Sector) and Octopus Energy Founder & CEO Greg Jackson (Top 5, Private Sector).
The selection process for the Net Zero 50 List is rigorous. Candidates are nominated by peers, partners or sector experts – or identified through independent research. All nominations are reviewed by an independent panel of judges with expertise across sustainability, climate policy, technology, business and public service.
By being named in the Top 5 for the Charity Sector, Cathy Benwell stands among the UK’s most influential changemakers accelerating progress towards a net zero future, and her impact through A Good Thing continues to grow.
