What are charity needs?

The ‘charity needs’ function of the A Good Thing platform allows UK charitable organisations to request the things they’re actually looking for – as well as waiting for notifications to arrive from local donor businesses.

We know that charities are often given things they don’t really need, but feel unable to say no to. They may worry about seeming ungrateful, or about burning their bridges with a generous donor, and so can end up with piles of things they can’t actually use.

We developed the ‘charity needs’ platform function in order to try to combat this, and to make sure donations are as focused and targeted as they can be. Charity users of the platform can use the function to request anything at all, and can also use it more than once. They can access it via the ‘Needs’ tab within their A Good Thing account.
