Laptops needed to enable local charity to provide online courses for vulnerable women in Heston, Hounslow

A Good Thing is seeking businesses who can donate laptops to SHEWISE a charity that supports marginalised and vulnerable women in Hounslow through online workshops.

The Charity:

SHEWISE is on a mission to build a brighter future for all, through investment in women and young girls in Hounslow, London.

For many ethnic minority women, cultural and language barriers can prevent them from accessing skills to further their careers. SHEWISE supports marginalised women in London, who are from diverse ethnic backgrounds particularly women who experience domestic abuse and mental health issues: with holistic empowered living programs. The program provides a mixture of engaging bilingual workshops, skill development activities and mental wellness initiatives. This helps women to heal from past trauma, build confidence, and raise their aspirations by building employability skills or helping them start their own small business.

Success stories include Halal Fresh and Nature's Own, which are small businesses owned by women who were originally struggling with financial difficulties and self-esteem issues before discovering SHEWISE. Additionally, SHEWISE provides hot meals and food parcels for homeless and refugee women in Central London every weekend.

The Project:

SHEWISE is asking for laptops to support women to access their online workshops. These workshops play a crucial role in training women to improve their IT skills for job searching and gaining employment.

The ask:

  • Laptops
