Case closed: Wace Morgan’s furniture finds a second life
When Wace Morgan Solicitors in Shrewsbury decided it was time to move offices this summer, they could have taken the easy route: chuck everything and call it a day. But thankfully, the firm chose a good thing – both literally and figuratively.
Hannah Jones, at Wace Morgan, first heard about A Good Thing through a LinkedIn connection. With an office move on the horizon – and 38 large desks, five printers and five white tables to clear out – she reached out to see if we could help.
“We need to get rid of a large quantity of furniture,” she told us, “but we don’t want it to go to waste if we can prevent it.” We knew exactly what to do. Our response? A resounding “Oh, yes!”
We were thrilled to connect Wace Morgan with the 4 All Foundation – a brilliant Shropshire-based charity at the heart of its community. 4 All runs a wide range of programmes across the county, from school holiday activities and youth clubs to wellbeing groups and health initiatives. The charity’s work brings people together, offering safe, inclusive spaces for children, young people and families to connect, learn and thrive.
Almost all the donated furniture found a new home with 4 All, where it will be used to support these vibrant community spaces. Whether it’s desks for young people to do homework, tables for group workshops or printers to help run outreach programmes, every item plays a role in enabling the Foundation’s work to go further.
“We are extremely grateful to Wace Morgan for the donation of furniture to 4 All Foundation, and of course to A Good Thing for facilitating the items finding their new home with us,” shared George from the charity. “It’s fantastic to see the positive impact A Good Thing is having – not only for organisations like ourselves, but also in enabling kind-hearted businesses like Wace Morgan to more easily support good causes.”
And that’s not all. A couple of items also made their way to In Tune Radio, another local charity doing great work in the community.
This donation wasn’t just about clearing out an old office – it was about creating space (quite literally) for something better. Wace Morgan could have seen its move as an inconvenience, but instead the firm saw it as an opportunity to give back.
Matches like this one do more than just keep useful items out of landfill – they help build stronger ties between local businesses and grassroots charities. It’s a win–win: practical support for those delivering frontline services, and a meaningful way for businesses like Wace Morgan to give back to the communities they’re part of.
At its core, this is what A Good Thing is all about – connection, collaboration and creating positive change from everyday actions.
