For Premier Print & Donations donating via A Good Thing has become a positive, reliable way to re-home surplus branded merchandise. The firm is an Essex-basedB Corp and an annual paying supporter of A Good Thing. Ryan Askew (Managing Director) and Jack Coulson (Apprentice Sustainability & Admin Coordinator) told us:
“Our donations have always gone smoothly, and our chosen charities are always delighted with their goodies. As the merchandise industry, it’s human for jobs to have mishaps – typically, surplus is the best opportunity to give away to those who need it more. For companies who are looking to donate, A Good Thing is the perfect place to do so.”
Tools that help charities tell their stories
Two of Premier’s recent donations were cameras. For charities, good photos are not just a “nice to have”: they help with fundraising, volunteer recruitment, supporter updates, and simply showcasing the reality of their work.
Colchester Foodbank received a Canon EOS 1000D camera, and Waste Not Want Not Battersea received a Nikon camera and bag.
Colchester Foodbank supports people in need across Colchester, Essex, with emergency food and wider help when times are tough. The charity’s Director, Nikki Ranson, told us:
“We would love to be able to have this to use for our social media and publishing what we do at the foodbank.”
Meanwhile, the Waste Not Want Not Battersea charity tackles food waste by turning surplus food into meals and support for the local community. Its CEO, Hadas Hagos, said:
“We’ll use the camera to film food-prep content for our programme, helping us create educational videos on cooking skills and healthy eating.”
Keeping the day-to-day running smoothly
Not every donation is flashy, but some are exactly what a team needs to stay organised.
The Jermyn Street Theatre received 12 Yealink office phones. For a busy venue, being reachable and coordinated makes a real difference – whether it’s handling calls, managing bookings, or keeping things moving behind the scenes.
Jermyn Street Theatre is an independent theatre and registered charity in the heart of London’s West End. It’s known for producing bold work, and supporting artists, while also welcoming audiences into a brilliant, intimate space.
The practical bits that still make a difference
Everyday items can make a real difference for small teams, especially when budgets are tight.
RAMA, Refugee, Asylum Seeker and Migrant Action CIC helps reduce destitution and homelessness, and supports people to access essential services through local partnerships. The charity received 25 brand-new customisable mousepads from Premier Print & Promotions, as Paula, Admin Lead at RAMA, told us:
“Our first transaction with A Good Thing was very easy. There was good communication and I found the place easily. The mousemats will be used both in the office (for staff) and for the people at college whom we support. We would definitely use A Good Thing again, as we rely on donations and funding.”
Finally, Women of Grace UK was matched with 150 branded rulers and 50 branded coffee cups from Premier Print & Promotions. This UK-based, survivor-led organisation works to end Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) and other forms of gender-based violence. It runs workshops and community activities to raise awareness and provide support to women and girls affected by abuse.
