Fuelling the nation: brand-new bottles bounce their way across the country

A Good Thing is an online platform that allows businesses to give things away to their local charities. Less to landfill, more to a good cause! The case study below is an example of the wonderful impact that can be made through these matches.

TC Branding is a Sussex-based merchandise company and annual supporter of A Good Thing. As a signatory to the BPMA’s StepForward Pledge, the firm has committed to positive action within the merchandise industry, and sustainability is at the forefront of this.

TC Branding is focused on doing what’s right for the environment. Its ethos (to “provide ethically and sustainably sourced products”) and its partnership with Ecologi are proof of this: the partnership guarantees a new tree planted with every order someone makes.

A true sign of commitment to sustainability

When TC Branding recently found itself with 280 brand-new sports bottles, Fiona Andrews, the firm’s procurement manager, knew just what to do with them. Fiona told us a little bit about her experience of using the platform:

“We usually donate brand-new, non-branded goods that are surplus stock. As a company, we are fully supportive of your company and the platform is really easy to use.”

The bottles were matched with two charities that were delighted with their positive impact.

The soul of the community

Soul Purpose 360 is all about community. Its headquarters may be in Surrey, but its influence stretches far across London, to areas such as Hounslow.

The charity’s focus is an important one: to empower more black women and help them gain confidence to become the leaders they can be.

With Soul Purpose 360’s launch of a new resource centre in Croydon, it was perfect timing when the bright purple bottles popped up on the platform. And in the charity’s own brand colour, too!

Founder Palma Black told us that the collection process was seamless: “Collecting was easy. On arrival, I was met at the warehouse, and the boxes were loaded into my car with a smile and heaps of gratitude that they were going to good use, rather than landfill.”

Thanks to TC Branding’s generosity, there is one more community that will now stay hydrated.

One more beneficiary

Not so far away, in Horsham, the rest of the bottles landed at Sedsconnective.

This is a charity that does brilliant work to raise awareness of neurodivergence. At Sedsconnective, hydration is important, and the founder Jane, recalled how key these bottles were for them:

“It was local and we need to hydrate a lot due to our health issues, so it was delightful to have some of the bottles. So far everyone has been very appreciative of them.”

We are excited that these donations continue to prove to be impactful and we hope A Good Thing can continue to connect businesses and charities for years to come.

With A Good Thing, no item is too small! If you think your business has something to donate, why not jump onto our platform and help us keep providing more good things.
