Doing A Good Thing for cancer support and awareness

A Good Thing is an online platform that allows businesses to give things away to their local charities. Less to landfill, more to a good cause! The case study below is an example of the wonderful impact that can be made through these matches.

Doing A Good Thing for cancer support and awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so at A Good Thing we’re celebrating the incredible work all of our cancer charity partners do every day. We know that cancer has touched everyone’s life in one way or another – be it themselves or someone they love. We don’t need to list the stats to know this.

Here at A Good Thing, we work to match our valued partners with business donations that can make a real difference to the people they support. We are delighted to have partnered with organisations that work tirelessly to improve the lives of people living with cancer.

Making a difference when it matters most

Madeleine Jeanrenaud, Stock Acquisition Manager for Cancer Research UK, is one of A Good Thing’s biggest champions. With shops across the country, the charity has used the platform to source donations for its retail franchise. Madeleine’s continuous support for the platform showcases how effective this type of partnership can be, allowing charity shops to source much-needed donations. The partnership supports Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking cancer research, with sales funding its vital investments.

The Duffus Community Foundation has embraced A Good Thing with enthusiasm. The charity supports young people going through the emotional hardship of seeing a loved one with cancer. Organising fun activities, offering guidance and advice, they build reliance and increase wellbeing in the young people they support. Duffus has been instrumental in building the partnership and using our app to support the foundation’s work. The charity’s experience highlights how consistent engagement can lead to ongoing benefits for charities and the communities they serve.

Last summer, Ayrshire Cancer Support received a generous donation of Dell monitors from Resource Data Management via the A Good Thing app, helping the charity better support people going through cancer treatment, including their carers, family and friends.

Simple donations go a long way.

We strive to continue supporting such valuable charities, throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month and beyond, matching innovative businesses to charities that can benefit from the items they no longer need.
