A story of success from our new charity needs feature!

It starts with a need

In February, digital inclusion charity Community TechAid uploaded a request for tote bags to our platform. As a charity tackling digital poverty, Community TechAid distributes over 50 laptops to people in the community each week. The Community TechAid team were looking for bags to enable the recipients to safely transport their new devices home.

Help at hand

The team at Community TechAid were delighted to receive multiple responses from businesses offering to donate bags. Among the businesses were the promotional merchandise firm Willsmer Wagg and King's College London.

Stephanie, Partnerships and Engagement Manager at Community TechAid, shared her experience of using the new platform feature:

“The process of posting our charity needs on A Good Thing was really simple and easy, and what made the biggest impact was how the [A Good Thing team] promoted it, particularly through LinkedIn.”

We were delighted to hear that Community TechAid were sent over 400 bags from King’s College London and 250 bags from Willsmer Wagg (with the support of the Laltex Group) who even arranged for the bags to be Community TechAid-branded!

Stephanie explained how impactful the donation has been:

“We’re so grateful, as every beneficiary receiving a refurbished laptop can now take it home safely in a sturdy, protective bag.”
