Volunteer spotlight! Lydia Roberts
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I'm a Durham Geography graduate with a love for all things sustainability, having previously designed campaigns for a student-run, plastic-free, refillable grocery store in Durham.
Why did you choose to volunteer with A Good Thing?
I love bringing awareness to sustainability, having volunteered in a sustainable development project in Fiji. I chose A Good Thing to display my passion for sustainable implementation at the everyday scale, where the concept of the circular economy is one that is incredibly important. The ease of the donation processes shows that sustainable business practice should never be seen as a chore.
What’s your role as part of the volunteering programme?
My role is being a copywriter: my love of writing and passion for the projects make the blog write-ups engaging and fun.
What do you hope to learn from your volunteering experience?
I hope to learn more about the holistic nature of the circular economy.
