The power of repeat giving: Premier Print and Promotions lead the way
When Premier Print and Promotions, a longtime supporter of A Good Thing and one of our regular businesses that donates, offered up a wide range of surplus stock, it didn’t take long before several charities were matched.
The donation included mugs, branded T-shirts, notebooks, tote bags, sticky notes, water bottles, build-your-own plane kits, and even Peppa Pig coffee cups. Thanks to Premier’s continued generosity, these items quickly found their way into the hands of charities who could put them to meaningful use.
Premier Print and Promotions: a returning supporter
For Premier P&P, donating through A Good Thing has become second nature. Surplus and sample stock are part of the day-to-day reality of a merchandise company; rather than letting these items go to waste, the team are determined they should go to people who can benefit.
“The donation process was really straightforward, as always,” Jack Coulson explained. “Once we listed the items, the charity match came through quickly, and the handover was arranged within days. Our team enjoys how simple it is to keep things moving and giving back to people that need it.”
The true reward, he added, comes from seeing the impact the items have in their new home, helping charities stretch their resources and ultimately making a tangible impact. “Talking with charities when they come to collect their goods is always the best part. They often share how our items have been helping them, what they’re planning to do with them, and who will benefit. It creates a real personal connection for us and makes the act of donating even more meaningful.”
From surplus stock to community support
Those connections were clear to see in the responses from the charities who benefited. Mistley Kids’ Club, a fully inclusive Ofsted-registered children’s charity, explained how the donation had inspired creativity, with children using the items for art activities and sharing the results proudly with their community. Claire Moss noted that what might otherwise have gone to waste had been transformed into resources that truly make a difference in the children’s learning and enjoyment.
Disability 4 Sport, meanwhile, expressed their gratitude to Premier P&P, having received their generous supplies as they started their Holiday Club for children with SEND. Rhys Commins explained that the notebooks and stationery, rather than going unused, were being given a second life, “providing the children with new ways to express themselves through drawing, writing, and painting.”
Previously, surplus items created real value, something as simple as tote bags can create a significant community impact, apparent in the Little Edi Foundation. As a charity providing a food bank for vulnerable children and families, the once-wasted bags “would be great for families to carry food home and reuse.”
Finally, Premier P&P’s continued generosity reached Ana from the Hummingbird Home Hub who found a seasonal use for the items, with donated cups set to become Christmas gifts for the children they support. “It’s such an amazing donation for the children. It's so nice to be able to treat them, as some of the children really struggle to afford going to clubs or have these gifts.”
Other organisations, including Women of Grace and Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome, also benefited, ensuring the impact of Premier’s donation reached widely across local communities.
Consistent giving, lasting impact
What stands out in this story is not just the variety of items donated, but the consistency of support. Premier Print and Promotions aren’t one-off donors – they are a trusted partner to many charities, returning time and again to give their surplus items a meaningful second life.
Each contribution not only helps charities stretch their resources and spark creativity but also reinforces a cycle of giving that connects the donor and community in a lasting, impactful way.
