Wow, what a year!
2025 has been a big year for A Good Thing in many ways: we took on our Operations Lead, Rebecca Hall, which has really transformed our capacity and what we have been able to do; we celebrated our fifth birthday; and we hit 1,000 businesses registered with the platform.
But we also hit another milestone: this year alone there have been 1,100 individual offers made! That’s more than four offers made each working day, right across the country. This represents a huge increase for us, and we are so proud of how we have been able to grow: back in 2022, our first full year of operations, we had 156 offers published.
It has been an incredible journey to get to where we are now. In February 2021 the first-ever offer was published on the platform: three elegant standard lamps, which were matched with Bucks Search and Rescue. (The charity, does valuable work with Thames Valley Police on search and rescue operations, planned to use the lamps to spruce up its rather tired training and presentation room.)
Now, in December 2025, we are seeing dozens of offers each month – everything from coffee cups, blankets and notepads to bricks, aprons, sofas and umbrellas is being donated. Businesses from right across all four countries of the UK are using the platform – from sectors as varied as hotels, construction, events, retail, real estate, branded merchandise and more. You can take a look at what’s on offer right now via the ‘Live offers’ page.
We’re watching businesses discovering the joy and delight of reuse: they’re reducing their waste disposal costs, lowering their carbon footprints and creating an incredible social impact locally – all at the same time. Charities need our help and support now more than ever – while businesses are looking to make a difference and be a bigger part of their communities. This is where A Good Thing comes in!
If you’re a UK business that may have things to donate in 2026, get involved! It takes 30 seconds to create an account with us, and then you’ll be able to start listing things straightaway.
